i love where i live. yes the backwoods of nowhere but it is my home. driving home from the grocery store today i was once again reminded why i do. here are just a few reasons why i do love my little town...
can stop your car in the middle of the road to go to my mail box, you will always run into someone at the grocery store, the local coffee shop knows what you drink before you even order, you can live only three minutes from town and still feel like you are in the country, neighbors drop by the mail they somehow got in their mailbox instead of just putting it in yours again, always run into someone at dq, no one understands better than a friend from here also of how we have to travel to really shop and even then its still a really small mall, we have supper clubs with great steaks, you can't see your neighbors house all the time, don't have blinds in our back bedrooms cause who will look and often wonder if you really need them in the front, life seems a bit slower, everyone knows who bought the old Pamida before its in the newspaper, how people think we are still going to get an applebee's, you get to have lots of trees around your house, people connect those they don't know by what family they are from, can park with your car running and not locked at walgreens, aaahhhh
i do have those moments when i miss my panera bread or starbucks but overall i feel very blessed to be apart of my little town.
