right now i am enjoying a cup of decaf coffee, a book, and a warm fire. i do have to say that today was one of those days where it is freezing outside but the sun is shining so all you want to do is play outside. our day off started with john shouting for "dad" in his room at exactly 6am. so no sleeping in for me and then me feeling the itch to get out of the house. so off we went to walmart to find our 2nd pair of boots for the season. first pair already outgrown... oh well!! then off to visit a friend i haven't seen in awhile. we often chat on the phone but our conversations are often interrupted with little ones in the background. we actually went to see our friends at john's old daycare. i've become closer with carrie cause of our similar situations and its nice to be able to toss ideas back and forth on different situations with different kids. i wasn't sure if john would remember cause well its been a little bit over 3 months since we've been there. i thought he might be clingy but he did great. carrie was amazed and how much he talks and how big he is. it was also fun for the other kids to see john. they all were excited and just kept saying johnny johnny. i think both john and i enjoyed our visit. after that we were off to nana and papa's to see cows and go for rides. in the summer the boys often travel in a big wagon behind the 4-wheeler well since winter is now here they travel by a big sled behind the 4-wheeler. they had a riot!! john john (yes this is what we call him john john) loves the snow. he hates coming inside even though he freezing. i think he could spend all day outside!! nana filled him with gingerbread cookies and dried apples for the apple trees grown on the farm. the boys also always help papa with feeding the cows and today was no different.
On a side note did i mention the boys now know how to crawl under the cow fence. dad said the other day he was doing something and had is back turned and when he turned back the boys were about halfway across the field headed for cows. they have no fear of these cows and think the cows are the greatest thing on earth. nana and papa are adding chickens this spring and we are all so excited for this. the boys are going to love that.
ok enough about cows. after nana and papa's we headed to see daddy and then home. on days i don't have kids john kinda just walk around looking bored. i kinda feel bad for him. not so bad though that i want another one yet amber and ashley. i know that's what you are thinking!! :O) our night ended with high school basketball. we watched both the yoder cousins play!! kinda fun to see!! both amber and i sat there thinking we can't wait until we are like our aunts and we are sitting alone watching our son's play instead of trying to keep our little boys in their seats. oh well good time with family!! john came home exhausted and both mom and dad are chilling cause he was in bed by 7:30. well book is calling and i need a few moments to relax. the attached picture is of john right after he split his lip open!! not a happy boy!! it was this mom's first experience with blood! don't like it at all is all i can say!! but isn't he a cutie!! love this little boy!! so very blessed to have him!! can't imagine my life without his giggles and smiles!!
