kindle fire and a rooster

so as some of you know last week i was one my own. mike spent the week at this parents helping with finishing some of the things that still need to be done. i know we both felt good that he could go and help. although it was a long week of being on my own. i did have a brief rest when amber volunteered to take john for half of the day. john and i had lots of bonding time and i was so ready for daddy to be home come friday. mike got back late on friday night so he didn't get a chance to see john. i was in bed reading a book when he came home. he walked into the bedroom with a box and handed it to me and on closer inspection i realized it was what i had just told mike i would love to have. a kindle fire. i love reading and i've dreamed of this new device. anyways i'm in love with this new item! mike did say i deserved it after my long week but also it was for valentine's. i don't really care i just love it and my man. (mike just read this and said i needed to state "how awesome he is") anyways he did also volunteer to get up with john in the morning... he was pretty excited to see his little man. saturday morning involved daddy cuddling a little boy while he watched caillou. it is so nice to have him back.

ok on another note. so john has now discovered the new cracks in the fireplace where you can place things. so mike as usual started a fire tonight. before long we both smelled something weird and were a bit puzzled and worried. well we found the source... a rooster melting on a top crack. mike lifted the lid while I got out the metal spatula and plate. got it off but still smells a bit funny. so you can guess there will be a look through before we start fires and we are now in need of another rooster.
